Saints Cosmas and Damian

Church of St. Catherine
Mazzorbo Island, Venetian Lagoon

The painting is identified in the church's guide text as Santi Cosma e Damiano. There is no reason to question the author, but it is unusual that the brothers do not have the clothing or attributes associated with physicians.

Also, instead of picturing their death, the artist simply has a putto bring the saints the laurel crowns that signify martyrdom.
